Directed Work

Shane Yamkowy

Directed Work is a result of redefining your TYPICAL DAY in the field, that assures you execute effective and safe operations, aligned with your ESG goals.

It is achieved by reviewing each workflow executed in the field, the tuning each workflow, and then integrating them tightly in your new typical day.

This assures the right work is being done, at the right time, at the right facility, on the right piece of equipment, by the right person.

Integrating facility (well and battery) Health Checks, with your Preventative Maintenance Program, and your alarm and event management, provides the inputs to assure directed work is achieved!

We typically design and help build OT Platforms that drive Directed Work, Operations by Exception, and Automated Reporting.

At night, our toolkit gathers all the work for the next 30 to 90 days, and generates VISITS.

Inside those VISITS are WORK ORDERS with start and end dates.

VISITS to Facilities indicate to Operators how often they should be going to any specific site to execute their known workload / work orders.

While doing a VISIT (also known sometimes as a Health Check), Operators:

  • do a quick site overview
  • use their mobile app to see key site or equipment information or key trends
  • execute work orders
  • enter field data capture for items not automated back to the OT Data Warehouse or Enterprise Historian
  • take photos of key “paper” items such as truck tickets
  • take photos to capture key information or situations
  • enter log book entries for feedback to ROCR, operations leadership requesting parts or assistance, or used to generate daily, weekly, shift handover, or real time newsfeed reports
  • fill out various forms such as inspections

During the VISITS, Operators use their customized mobile app as a real time tool to execute their work, manage future work, provide feedback to the ROCR, and request assistance and parts.

THE ROCR watches the entire field in real time and makes adjustments as needed based on events, alarms, and contractor, vendor, and resources availability.
